According to the Vietnam <<Investment News>> reported on September 23, Vietnam's cotton import price in early September was 1900-2000 US dollars / ton, the chain rose 9%, year-on-year rise of 45%. As Vietnam's domestic cotton production can only meet the demand of 5% of the textile industry, it must import large quantities from the United States, India, and Africa each year. According to statistics of Vietnam Textile Association, Vietnam imported 300,000 tons of cotton in 2009. Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam has imported 260,000 tons of cotton and imported 500 million US dollars, an increase of 30% year-on-year. It is expected that imports will reach 370,000 tons this year.
